Allow foreign firms to bid for govt projects, says Pikom

THE Association of the Computer and Multimedia Industry of Malaysia (Pikom) has proposed that registration of selected foreign companies making a bid for consulting and systems integration projects of government authorities or government-linked companies (GLC) be allowed, provided they meet strict professional criteria.

In a memorandum to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) annual dialogue 2005, Pikom said current regulations prevented foreign-owned companies from getting registered.
