NEW YORK: JP Morgan Chase & Co has agreed to pay US$2bil to settle a lawsuit accusing it of hiding risks from WorldCom Inc investors when it helped the company sell bonds.
The No. 2 US bank is the last major financial institution to settle the class-action lawsuit, filed on behalf of hundreds of thousands of investors who had bought WorldCom stock and bonds before the phone company sought bankruptcy protection in July 2002.
