Silverlake wins award from IBM

Home-grown Silverlake, one of the country's biggest software companies, won IBM Corp's 2005 Asia Pacific Excellence Award in Las Vegas recently. 

Silverlake, which is also one of the largest software companies in South-East Asia, posted a pre-tax profit of RM129mil on sales of RM285mil for its financial year ended June 30, 2003. That's a high profit margin of 45%, which is the norm among software companies.
