BEIJING: China’s industrial output in January–February showed a higher-than-expected 16.9% rise on a year ago, much faster than recent months’ rates and pointing to a need for Beijing to keep cooling measures in place.
The data defied a year-long trend of steadily slowing growth in industrial production, the result of government policies to restrain economic growth to a sustainable pace.
