It is not necessary for Proton Holdings Bhd and Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua), to merge at the moment, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz said.
“When the time comes, I do believe there will be some rationalisation. But for now, I don’t think there is that necessity,” she said at the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority’s annual media conference on the performance of the manufacturing and related services sectors in 2004 in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
