BEIJING: China’s central bank has issued long-awaited rules for commercial banks to set up mutual fund ventures for the first time, paving the way for banks to seek new revenue sources and boost capital markets.
The central bank, on its website www.pbc.gov.cn, detailed rules that allow banks to invest in less risky money market instruments and bonds during a trial period but “expand their investments when conditions were ripe”.
