Better management can raise oil palm yields

OIL palm planters can increase their yields to up to five tonnes a hectare annually compared to the current four tonnes by implementing better management practices, said Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) chief executive M.R. Chandran. 

“This (yield) is achievable through better management practices of existing plantations, such as through environment management, labour and economic components in order to optimise yields,” he said.
