NEW YORK: Boeing Co is set to sign deals worth up to US$7.5bil to sell 60 of its new 7E7 Dreamliner aircraft to six Chinese airlines, a source familiar with the transactions said.

The orders are a coup for Boeing as it battles European rival Airbus for customers. They are also a big boost for the 7E7, a mid-sized airliner expected to offer low fuel and operating costs when it debuts in 2008.
