SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines (SIA) has beaten market forecasts with a 26% rise in quarterly profit, as one-off gains offset high fuel prices and competition from budget carriers.
The Singapore national flag carrier earned S$475.6mil in its third quarter to Dec 31, 2004,compared with S$378mil a year earlier, when Asia’s airlines were rebounding from a SARS-hit travel slump.
