SEOUL: LG Electronics Inc has swung to a quarterly profit from a year-earlier loss on record sales of mobile phones, but its latest earnings were half those of the preceding three months because of crumbling flat-screen prices.
The world’s fifth largest cellphone maker, enjoying healthy demand for its pricey third-generation (3G) handsets, forecast its phone sales would rise as much as 40% this year, but its shares fell 3.6% yesterday on concerns over its broader outlook.
