BEIJING: China National Petroleum Corp, the country's biggest oil company, has achieved a 50% rise in 2004 profit to a record 110 billion yuan (US$13.3bil), thanks to increased demand and higher oil prices, the government said.
Sales rose 16% to about 550 billion yuan last year, the State Council’s Asset Supervision and Administration Commission said on its website yesterday. China National Petroleum is the parent company of overseas-listed PetroChina Co.
