THE number of personal computers (PCs) in use worldwide will reach almost 1.3 billion by the end of the decade, up from 575 million at present, according to a Forrester Research Inc report.
The report said while mature markets in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific would add 150 million new PCs to the world market by 2010, more significant growth would come from emerging markets, which were forecast to use 566 million new PCs during that period, up from 75 million in 2003, a 31% annual growth rate.
