KLCI surges to 4½-year high

SHARE prices surged across the board in heavy volume on Bursa Malaysia yesterday as investors placed their funds on the financial strength of the corporates, and punters placed theirs on a belief this will be a sustained Chinese New Year rally.  

The benchmark Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) rose to its highest level in more than four-and-a-half years as blue-chip counters continued to attract strong fund support.
