Earnings from wood-based industry hit RM17bil last year

MALAYSIA’S wood-based industries generated RM17bil in export earnings last year, an impressive increase of about RM700mil compared with 2003. 

Plantations Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui said yesterday the wood-based sectors enjoyed robust growth over the past few years and the trend was expected to continue this year.
