CITIGROUP Malaysia has been picked as one of the top US companies in the US Department of State for the Corporate Excellence Award 2004. 

Citigroup was chosen to receive this special citation because of the company's commitment to corporate citizenship, innovation and exemplary business practices in Malaysia, Citigroup said in a statement yesterday. – Bernama 

SUNWAY HOLDINGS INC BHD has secured a term loan facility of RM70mil from HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd and RM64.5mil bridging loan facility from OCBC Bank (M) Bhd. 

The facilities will be used to finance the company's repayment of outstanding bonds of up to RM129mil. – Bernama

Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd has registered an increased pre-tax profit of RM55.34mil in the third quarter ended Oct 31 from RM49.44mil in the previous corresponding period. Its revenue rose to RM334.95mil from RM230.64mil previously. – Bernama

ISLAND & PENINSULAR BHD recorded a lower pre-tax profit of RM37.01mil in the third quarter ended Oct 31 from RM37.48mil in the same period last year. Revenue increased to RM141.88mil from RM140.08mil previously. – Bernama
