Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd
plans to build a new assembly plant in Serendah, Selangor, in 24 to 30 months and upgrade its plant in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, at a cost of RM150mil to meet an expected increase in production and sales.
The new plant, costing RM125mil, is licensed to assemble commercial vehicles. The company also has obtained the approval from the International Trade and Industry Ministry to assemble passenger cars at the plant, subject to the green light from the state government, which is pending.
