All state governments have been asked to identify companies that they would propose be given licences for putting up telecommunications transmission towers to ensure wider coverage of mobile telephony.
Energy, Water and Communications Deputy Ministry Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said the firms should be government-backed.
