SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) - The United States and Australia settled last- minute differences over a free trade deal Wednesday, concluding an agreement to take effect in January 2005 that would add billions of dollars in new trade benefits for both nations.
The deal was announced on the sidelines of the annual Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum, held in Santiago, by Australian Trade Minister Mark Vaile and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Zoellick.
