Hefty gain from disposal of Telkom SA

Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s investment in Telkom South Africa (Telkom SA) has paid off handsomely, giving the company a RM3.02bil boost in gross proceeds for the disposal of its entire stake in the South African company, and total exceptional gains of RM1.5bil. 

Yesterday, the company announced it was selling its remaining 6% stake in Telkom SA for RM1.62bil, giving an exceptional gain of RM860mil.
