Government’s move to benefit Selangor water players

WATER industry players in Selangor are expected to benefit from the Government’s decision to press ahead with the privatisation of the state’s sole water supply operator, Perbadanan Urus Air Selangor Bhd (PUAS), after nearly a year’s delay.

Industry observers and analysts said the decision signalled a softening of the Government's approach towards resolving the critical water supply situation in Selangor due to the inability of PUAS to pay its debts to water treatment operators.
