Analysts: Festive season to help AEON beat first-half results

RHB Research is predicting a bumper season for Aeon Co (M) Bhd (formerly known as Jaya Jusco Stores Bhd) in the coming months owing to upbeat consumer spending, the upcoming Deepavali, Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Christmas celebrations, the long school break and the anticipated payout of year-end bonuses.

The research house said the above factors would provide a solid platform for AEON to outperform its first half-year results, and expected the group's second half period ending February 2005 to receive an “extra sales kicker'' from the retailer's 12th and 13th Jusco stores to be opened in Cheras Selatan and Tebrau, Johor.
