USM to implement Intel-Cisco wireless technology by 2006

INTEL and Cisco System Malaysia are working with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in implementing a mobile infrastructure for USM students, faculty members and administrators to learn, teach, and manage from any site on the campus by 2006. 

Intel Technology Asia Pte Ltd South-East Asia director Lai Yit Loong said USM was the first Malaysian university to implement the infrastructure, joining more than 300 universities across the Asia Pacific for the accelerated adoption of mobile computing and wireless technologies.
