THE shares of two small banking groups – Southern Bank Bhd and Affin Holdings Bhd – attracted keen interest from investors yesterday, rising 4.5% and 6.45%, respectively, on heavy volume.
Analysts said the sudden jump was due to the compelling valuations those stocks were trading at, and their prospective earnings potential.
