TOKYO (AP) - The number of corporate bankruptcies in Japan fell to a five-and-a-half year low in August, as improved business sentiment and consumer spending lifted bottom lines, a private credit research agency said Tuesday.
Bankruptcies dropped 18.2 percent in August from a year ago level to 1,080 cases, Teikoku Databank said.
