  • The soon-to-open five-star luxury Hilton Kuala Lumpur hotel in KL Sentral, has appointed Mark Hehir as director of food and beverage (F&B) operations at Studio, a section within the hotel that houses five restaurants and two bars. 

    With more than 19 years' experience in the hospitality industry, Hehir will be responsible for the strategic administration and management of Studio, supervising a dedicated team of chefs, managers and staff running the various F&B outlets there. 

    Prior to joining the 510-room Hilton Kuala Lumpur, he was the Chef De Cuisine and the concept developer of the famed, fine-dining restaurant called Twenty-One in Tokyo, Japan. 

  • KUMPULAN Darul Ehsan Bhd (KDEB) has appointed Datuk Abd Karim Munisar president effective Sept 6. 

    The former Petaling Jaya Municipal Council (MPPJ) president, who was appointed KDEB deputy president last July, is also assuming the positions of executive chairman of Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (KPS) and chairman of Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Bhd (KHSB). 

    According to a KDEB statement, Abd Karim “will definitely bring KDEB to greater heights in the ever challenging business and corporate environment with his vast experience in management.” – Bernama
