THE current sky-high oil prices will only have a modest negative impact on the growth of Malaysia's economy this year, avers Bank Negara governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.
The now targeted gross domestic product (GDP) growth of faster than 6.5% for the full year would not be significantly affected by the spiralling oil prices because of Malaysia’s status as a net exporter of the commodity, she said.
