Air New Zealand hikes fuel surcharge on ticket prices

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) - Air New Zealand announced Thursday that it will increase its surcharge on air fares from early next month because of the rising cost of jet fuel. 

The fuel surcharge on one-way domestic tickets will rise by 10 New Zealand dollars (US$6.49; euro 5.37), while the surcharge on one-way flights to Australia and South Pacific states will be hiked to NZ$22 (US$14.30; euro 11.84), up from the current NZ$15 (US$9.74; euro 8.06).
