Time for bold trade initiatives

TO be sure, the political economic environment in Malaysia is conducive for multilateral, regional and bilateral trade arrangements.  

Under the Uruguay Round, Malaysia had liberalised trade in thousands of items. Malaysia subscribes fully to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) process through its active involvement in the Doha Round. As mentioned earlier, Malaysia is also firmly wedded to Association of South East Asian Nations (Asean) and is strongly committed to the Asean Free Trade Area (Afta) process.
