MANILA, Philippines (AP) - The main Philippine stock index closed slightly higher Thursday, as bargain-hunters bought blue-chip Globe Telecom and other select stocks following recent losses, traders said.
The 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange Index rose 4.89 points, or 0.3 percent, to close at 1,577.80, adding to Wednesday's 0.7 percent rise.
