Retail Trade Index shoots up to new high

THE Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (MIER) Retail Trade Index (RTI) sets a new high water mark by recording an 18-point rise to 137 points in the second quarter of the year compared with the previous quarter.  

The index, which is based on trade survey of about 100 retailers, has shown an even bigger gain on an annual basis with a growth of 41 points.
