MANILA, Philippines (AP) - Philippine shares ended lower Friday on profit-taking, triggered by the latest bad news involving blue chip Manila Electric, or Meralco, traders said.
The 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange Index ended down 14.36 points, or 0.9 percent, at 1,584.70, after rising 3.6 percent in the past three sessions Decliners led gainers 57 to 28, while 41 stocks were unchanged.
