Mieco and Matsushita set up fibreboard plant


MALAYSIA'S largest particleboard maker, Mieco Chipboard Bhd, yesterday sealed a joint-venture (JV) agreement with Japan-based Matsushita Electric Works Ltd to establish the world's first Kenaf fibreboard plant at Mieco's plant in Semambu, Pahang. 

Mieco Chipboard chairman Datuk Mohamed Moiz J.M. Ali Moiz said a JV company would be set up to embark on Malaysia's first mass commercial production of Kenaf fibreboards which would see an initial investment of RM20mil.
