SHANGHAI, China (AP) - The Chinese government tobacco monopoly on Thursday denied a statement by British American Tobacco PLC that the company has received permission to build China's first foreign cigarette factory.
"We have not authorised any foreign tobacco company to invest in any cigarette factory inside China,'' the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration said in a statement on its Web site.
