MANILA, Philippines (AP) - Philippine shares closed higher Wednesday, snapping a two-day slide as investors hunting for bargains late in the session helped blue chips rebound after a weak start, traders said.

The 30-company Philippine Stock Exchange Index rose 6.32 points, or 0.4 percent, to 1,539.32 after falling 11.26 points Tuesday.
