JOHN McLeod’s many friends in Malaysia and Indonesia will be sad to learn of his death on June 22 after a short illness.

McLeod was one of the most prominent leaders of the British business community in South-East Asia in the post-war years. He had a long and illustrious career with Harrisons and Crosfield (H&C), the large plantation and trading company, briefly in Sri Lanka, and then for many years in Indonesia, Malaysia, and finally, as a director on the H&C main board in London.
