TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) - Taiwan shares ended down for the fifth straight session Friday amid worries about U.S. markets and pessimism over prospects for the technology sector during the second half of the year, analysts said.
The Weighted Price Index of the Taiwan Stock Exchange finished 40.66 points, or 0.7 percent, lower at 5,502.14 in dealings valued at 49.61 billion New Taiwan dollars (US$1.46 billion).
