NEW YORK: US manufacturing expanded briskly for a 13th straight month in June while construction spending cooled a bit in May, according to two reports on Thursday showing the economy's robust expansion was on track.
But Americans may have finally become saturated with cars and trucks, with motor vehicle sales plunging 15% in June despite ongoing rebates and incentives. That sharp drop should dent overall retail sales for the month, economists said.
