TAIPEI: Taiwan export orders rose 25.9% in the year through May on strong demand for electronics and from China, but eased from the previous month's record high, government data showed yesterday.
Although trade is usually slow before back-to-school sales in the late summer, May export orders came to US$17.25bil, slightly higher than the US$17.14bil predicted by a Reuters poll but off April's US$18.03bil.
