THE European Union (EU) welcomes opportunities to establish and strengthen economic links with Sarawak in various sectors, including timber and tourism.
Its ambassador to Malaysia, Thierry Rommel, said on Monday that Sarawak needed to move up the value-added chain to sustain its competitiveness globally, or risk being overtaken by other fast-developing economies such as China.
