THE expansion of the European Union (EU) from 15 to 25 countries on May 1, and impending formation of the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), can pose trade obstacles to East Asia.
Academicians were unanimous in their concern over the EU's expansion and FTAA's formation, this unity of view discernible among both speakers and participants at the Second East Asia Congress organised by the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS).
