Big role for Islamic banking at HSBC

HSBC Malaysia Bhd wants to grow its Islamic banking business, branded under HSBC Amanah Finance, into a significant business contributor in the near future. 

“In line with the Government's aspiration to make Malaysia a regional Islamic financial hub HSBC, too, is determined to make Malaysia its regional hub for HSBC Amanah that will serve not only the Asean region but also the larger South and East Asian markets,'' deputy chairman and chief executive officer Zarir J Cama told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
