WASHINGTON: Few American jobs were lost because of foreign outsourcing, indicating that concerns that US companies are exporting jobs may be overblown, Labour Department data released on Thursday showed.
In its first-ever estimate of outsourcing, the department said moving jobs overseas accounted for about 2.5% of the 182,456 workers who lost their jobs for longer than a month for non-seasonal factors in the first three months of the year.
