Elpida plans world’s biggest DRAM plant

TOKYO: Elpida Memory Inc, the chip joint venture of NEC Corp and Hitachi Ltd, plans to invest some 500 billion yen over the next three years to build one of the worlds' biggest dynamic random access memory (DRAM) plants, sources familiar with the matter said. 

The company would raise funds to finance the project possibly via bank loans, new shares and corporate bond issues, the sources said.
