Local ad film industry on a steep downturn

LOCAL advertising film production is on a steep decline and the situation is adversely affecting the national economy, said executive council members of the Malaysian Association of Advertising Film Makers during a meeting with Information Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir recently.

The industry recorded a whopping RM117mil in 2001, but it has subsequently suffered a downturn, earning only RM49mil in 2002 and RM45mil last year. Worse still, this year the projected income will fall to a low of RM25mil.
