Oil price worries dog markets

SHARE markets across Asia headed lower yesterday amid lingering worries about oil prices, which rose again after the overnight fall in New York despite expectations the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) would pump more crude to curb the price surge.

The Seoul and Taipei stock markets led the falls yesterday, with the Kospi Index plunging 34 points or 4.3% to 770 and Taipei's Weighted Index sliding 204 points or 3.5% to 5,671.
