NEW YORK: Manufacturers around the world stepped up production again in May, unfazed by the hit to profit margins from surging energy costs.
Unexpected manufacturing strength in the euro zone, which has been the laggard so far in the fastest global economic expansion in four years, was the latest sign the world economy appears to be coping so far with record high oil prices.
