New business to help AIC to turn around

AIC Corp Bhd, Malaysia's second largest distributor and maker of semiconductors by sales, expects to return to the black this year after suffering a net loss in its financial year ended Dec 31, 2003.

President and chief executive officer Mohamad Ariff Puteh said there was a gradual but definite shift in the company's operations toward the making of end products with higher margins such as thin film transistor-liquid crystal displays (TFT-LCD) and plasma display panels (PDP) televisions and monitors.
