Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank), which sees bilateral trade between Malaysia and China continuing to grow, hopes to be awarded a resident bank licence in China within five years.
Deputy president Datuk Mohammed Hussein said the bank had recently been awarded a non-resident licence by the Chinese government to provide loans to its customers in renminbi.
