KUB names Izham as new head

By B.K. SIDHU

KUB Malaysia Bhd has named Izham Yusoff, the current managing director of Amanah Raya Bhd, as its new managing director and chief executive.

Izham, whose appointment is effective July 1, will succeed Che Khalib Mohamad Nor, who is headed for Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).

“I am honoured to be given the opportunity to serve KUB,” Izham said when contacted by StarBiz yesterday. “I look forward to continuing Che Khalib’s efforts to realise KUB’s full potential.’’

The appointment of Izham comes hot on the heels of that of Che Khalib and Datuk Abdul Wahid Omar to the top posts at TNB and Telekom Malaysia Bhd respectively.

These appointments are part of the Government's efforts to remake Malaysia Inc through the reformation of government-linked companies (GLCs). Last Friday, the Government announced that Azman Mokhtar would be the new CEO of its investment agency, Khazanah Nasional Bhd, effective June 1.

Izham, 37, has an MBA in accounting and international business from the University of Miami in Florida, the US.

Before joining Amanah Raya in August 2002, he was special assistant to the managing director of EON Bhd from January 1998 to July 2002.

Earlier in his professional career, he had also served as corporate strategy manager at Maxis Communications Bhd (December 1996 to December 1997), financial controller at Citibank Bhd (1995–1996), and financial analysis manager, corporate, at Procter & Gamble in Singapore (July 1992 to September 1995).
