BEIJING: Loosening capital controls in China too quickly would be a risk to the financial system, a senior International Monetary Fund official said yesterday.
Maintaining China's steady and gradual approach to capital account liberalisation is appropriate, IMF deputy managing director Takatoshi Kato said in a speech here.
